LFGBot ("the bot") is operated by the LFGamers Discord community. This page describes what the bot stores, why, and for how long.

What we store

Moderation records

When a moderator bans, kicks, mutes, softbans, or notes a user, we store the target's user ID and username, the moderator's user ID, the reason, the timestamps, and the server it happened in. We keep these for one year and then delete them automatically. A record for a punishment still in effect is kept until that punishment ends, then deleted on the same schedule.

Activity tracking

For each user in each server, we store the user ID, the server ID, the names and nicknames we have seen them use, the last time they were online, and the last time they sent a message. We do not store message content. A record is deleted after 30 days with no observed activity, and you can delete yours at any time — see Opting out below.

Support tickets

When you open a ticket with /modmail, we store the category, subject, and description you submitted, plus every message sent in the ticket channel including attachments, which we copy to our own storage so they survive Discord's link expiry. Tickets are kept for one year after they close and then deleted along with the copied attachments. Only server moderators can read them.

Configuration

Settings you or your server admins set through the bot — reminders, tags, self-assignable roles, preferences. Kept until deleted through the bot.

Channel logs

When a message is edited or deleted in a server with change logging on, the bot posts a copy to that server's log channel. That copy lives inside Discord under Discord's retention, not ours. If the message had an attachment, the bot also mirrors it to Imgur, a third-party image host, and includes that link in the copy. That link is public: anyone who has it can view the image, whether or not they have access to the original channel.

Why we store it

Moderation records and support tickets exist so moderators can tell a first offense from a pattern, and so appeals can be checked against what actually happened. Activity tracking exists to catch raids and ban evasion and to answer "when was this account last active here". That is all of it. We do not sell this data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising.

Where it lives

On infrastructure we control, with one exception. Ticket attachments copied out of Discord are stored in Cloudflare R2, and nobody outside the LFGamers moderation team has access to them. The exception is channel-log attachments; see Channel logs above.

Opting out

You can delete your activity tracking and stop the bot collecting it at /opt-out. It takes a Discord login and one button.

Opting out does not delete your moderation records or your support tickets. Those are what the moderation team needs to keep the server safe. They are deleted on the one-year schedule above, the same as everyone else's.
